Screen Not Being Detected After Upgrading to Windows® 8.1

When upgrading to Windows® 8.1 it is highly recommended that you first uninstall the j5create display adapter driver. If you have already updated and found that your adapter is no longer working it is likely due to leftover bits of software from the previous OS. To fix this issue you will need to follow these steps:

  1. Unplug the j5 adapter
  2. Uninstall the j5 driver
  3. Right-click the Windows® icon in bottom left-hand corner and select Command Prompt (admin)
  4. Type: is sc delete GManager
  5. Restart computer
  6. Reinstall the j5 driver
  7. Restart computer
  8. Reconnect the j5 adapter

This should allow your computer to detect your screen through the adapter once more.
